Taraba Government Begins Distribution of Covid19 Materials

A campaign against the spread of corona virus  in  Taraba state has been flagged off by the Taraba state government in collaboration with the state primary health care development agency.

The campaign which was flagged off in Jalingo,  the state capital on Monday the 20th of April is expected to reach out to all nooks and crannies of the state.

Speaking to newsmen at the venue of the event,  the chairman of the board agency,  Mr Bala Victor said that though there is no positive case of the covid19 virus in Taraba state,  the measure becomes necessary to curb the case of corona virus in the state. The chairman state that the pandemic corona virus is real an as such there is need for prevention,  as prevention is better than cure.

The agency also kick start the distribution of material to primary health care and communities in the 16 local government area of Taraba state to ensure the prevention of the pandemic corona virus in Taraba state.

Mr Bala,  disclosed that the Taraba state government is committed to the safety of people living in the state.

Mallam Hassan Aminu,  who is the executive secretary of the agency disclosed that that the campaign will be directed by the directors of all primary health care located in the sixteen local government area of Taraba state.

He reminds the Directors that they are the representative of the state government in their communities and further tasked them to live up to expectations.
Hassan asked the people of Taraba state to ensure the abide by all guideline like washing their hands,  Maintain social distance and use mask as,  staying safe is better than staying in ventilators.

Items distributed include hand sanitizer,  soap,  face mask,  washing basing and bucket. They items were distributed were received by the directors of primary health care department across all local government.

The directors in their own capacity promised to sensitise their respective communities on the need to stay safe.

However,  the Technical Committee on Corona virus set up by governor Darius has expressed concern the continue trade between Taraba and Kano despite the rapid increase in covid19 case discovered in Kano.

The Commissioner for Health Taraba State,  Dr Innocent Vakkai who double as the Chairman Taraba state Technical committee on Covid19 expressed displeasure with the securities agency for floating the governor's directive on interstate travel.

Dr Vakkai disclosed that about 65 indigene of Adamawa state returning from ogun state were intercepted on Friday in Jalingo and have since been moved to Demsa isolation center. He further disclosed that access bank has agree to set up a 100 bed capacity isolation center in the state.
